Dunes of Despair Mission Bug - Guild Wars Forums

Hi,

I have been trying to run my guildie through the Dunes of Despair mission. We kill everything and the Ghostly Hero says to guard him while he lowers the bridge..Problem is he never lowers the bridge. He just stands there..Anyone else having this problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Did you log out completely or just map back to Dunes to get it to work? Because we have mapped back twice now and both time...bridge still stayed up!!

Are you sure you led him to the edge of the cliff? If you don't then he won't do the bridge.

Oh yeah...led him to the edge...even killed off the guards on each side..he just won't lower the bridge!! I have done this mission numerous times and never had a problem before...Just don't understand what is going on...have reported the problem to Anet..Still getting really angry!! Trying to get my guildie ascended before Factions...grr....

Go kill the worm and then come back to the bridge, I have had that happen in the past and then it worked.

Hes talking about the bridge that leads to the other ghostly hero... not the short cut bridge. This happens a lot with the ghost, not just there. A lot of times, you will get him to lower the bridge, kill the bad ghost, and he still wont come to the alter. Its a bug, Anet doesnt care. Same with that first group of centaurs when you go to get the slow totem... If you dont fight them, you can walk right by, they wont move. That mission is filled with issues. Only suggestion I have, keep doing it till he lowers the bridge. Rebooting your PC, or logging out wont change anything. I have found that keeping him out of battles tends to eliminate this issue. Of course, thats easier said than done.

That problem is easy to fix.

I've had this same "bug" numerous times, and each time the problem was the same. In the general area there was a pop-up enemy that hadn't been aggro'd, and it was keeping the Ghost from doing his bridge thing. Just walk around, look for that enemy. Kill the sucker, and viola.

Problem solved, bridge lowered

in my other post as i said kill the worm and go back since, alot of times its the worm by the other bridge that hits the aggro, when my guildies killed that worm and brought the ghost back he lowered the other bridge as well. Also there are some scarabs in the area that pop up as well.

Yep had that exact situation happen more times than I care to remember. Go through the whole level and make sure there are no pop up enemies left that could be holding the Ghost's aggro which is why the Ghost wont drop the bridge for you.
